WebJun 18, 2024 · It’s not a long term repair and won’t replace a new stock. Take a piece of raw hide. Soak it in water. Stretch it, wrap it tightly around the broken stock, allow to dry and shrink and it binds the stock together. You can use lacing, brass tacks or just about anything else that might keep the rawhide from moving till it sets.

Clear gloss polyurethane will fix scratches, and the 2 part water clear epoxy works for chips.
